The Scenic Hut "Maisemakammi" is built into the hillside above Lake Pitkäjärvi – a turf-roofed nest of stone and open fire, entered through a bid-nest like entrance, whose round opening frames the lake. A space of quiet mystery, waiting for a supernatural kitchen.
That kitchen belongs on July 18 to Sami Tallberg, an awarded chef and messenger of wild food who treats nature not as scenery but as raw material. For him nothing exists in isolation – every mushroom, herb and fish is part of one living web, carried to the table. On a July evening that means the fleeting harvest of the season, finished over open fire. Four courses, one table, one evening.
